Method for Vada popular south indian breakfast recipe:

  • In a mixer jar
  • Add chopped ginger, green chilles, curry leaves and urad dal and grind to a medium thick paste
  • In a bowl add grinded urad dal paste
  • Add cumin seeds powder, asafoetida, black pepper powder, salt, rice flour and mix it thoroughly. (do not use water)
  • Make batter of it
  • Heat oil
  • Take the vada batter and Make a round shape in between it and fry in oil.
  • Fry until the vada changes colour.
  • Tasty and Crispy Vada’s are ready. Serve hot with Sambar or coconut chutney.

  • Potatoes-3 medium
  • Finely Chopped Onions-2 big
  • Ginger paste-1 tsp

Instructions:

  • Take a bowl, smash boiled potatoes and add finely chopped onions, ginger paste, coriender leaves, mint leaves, chopped green chillies, salt, black pepper powder, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds and mix well.
  • Further, add dry mango powder and red chilli powder. Mix well.
  • Take a bowl and add gram flour, 2 tbsp rice flour for crispiness, add coriender leaves, mint leaves, chopped green chillies, carom seeds, ginger paste, turmeric powder, salt, black pepper powder, dry mango powder and mix well
  • Add water as per thick consistency, add a pinch of baking powder and mix well.
  • Apply green chutney on bread slice and apply red chutney on the other bread slice, apply potatoes masala and just place one bread slice on the other like sandwich and cut diagonally into half
  • Dip into gram flour mixture and leave in oil for deep frying with full flame for 1 minute, turn upside down after 1 minute on each side, repeat the process of turning upside down after every 1/2 minute for 3 minute on medium flame.
  • Bread Pakora is ready.

Popular Indian Breakfast recipe which is also simple and quick to make on a busy weekday or a lazy weekend. Poori Bhaji or sabzi as it is also known as, is an easy indian breakfast prepared by deep frying poori’s in oil and serving it hot with the Aloo or Potato Sabzi.

Ingredients for Poori Bhaji Easy Indian Breakfast:

  • Wheat Flour-500 gm
  • Milk cream-4 tbsp (optional)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil- 5 1/2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves-little
  • Green chillies-8
  • Onions-2 big
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Potatoes-500 gm
  • Mint leaves-little
  • Coriander leaves a few

Method for this Recipe:

  • Wash potatoes and boil until soft, peel the skin off and make small pieces.
  • For Poori’s: Add wheat flour into a big bowl, add milk cream, add salt, add 1-1/2 tbsp oil, add water and make dough and keep aside.
  • For Sabzi: Heat a pan, add 3 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds, add cumin seeds, add curry leaves, add chopped green chillies, add chopped onions, add salt, add turmeric powder, add 1 tbsp oil, add boiled potatoes, add mint leaves, add coriender leaves and mix well and close the lid and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  • Take some dough, give flat round shape with the help of roll pin.
  • Heat a pan, add oil for frying, add poori and fry. Poori Bhaji is ready.

Method for this Yummy Breakfast Recipe:

  • Coarsely mince the mutton.
  • Heat a pan, add green chillies and roast.
  • Add coriender leaves, roasted green chillies, little water, ginger paste, and garlic paste to the mixer jar and grind.
  • Heat a pan, add 3 tablespoon oil, add chopped onions, add chopped tomatoes, add coarsely minced mutton, add salt, add green masala, add garam masala, add turmeric powder, add roasted coriender powder and fry for 5 minutes on full flame, add little water and stir, close the lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame until complete water is absorbed, add kheema to puffed rice and mix well with hand.
  • Kheema Bhel is ready.

Ingredients for Egg Dosa Batter and Mixture:

  • Dosa Rice-400 gm
  • Urad Dal-150 gm
  • Methi- 1-1/2 tablespoon
  • Cooked Rice-1 cup
  • Grated coconut-1/2 big
  • Chopped Coriander-little
  • Finely chopped green chillies- 8-10
  • Eggs-3
  • Finely chopped onions-2 big
  • Salt-as per taste

Method for Egg Masala Mix Dosa:

  • Dosa rice, urad dal, and methi should be soaked in water for 6 to 8 hours. egg masala mix dosa
  • After soaking, grind it with lukewarm water and keep overnight with lid closed at warm place.Next day morning, open and stir by adding 1 tablespoon salt. Add turmeric powder and stir well. Our dosa batter is ready.
  • Preparation for egg mix, add grated coconut in a bowl, add finely chopped onions, add chopped green chillies, add chopped coriander, add salt, add ajwain powder, add beaten eggs and mix well. Add this mixture to the batter and mix well.
  • Heat a pan, apply oil, make the flame high, spread dosa mix batter and close the lid and cook for 1 minute. After 1 minute, turn upside down and cook for 1/2 minute. Egg masala mix dosa is ready.

Kheer is a widely popular sweet recipe usually made on special occasions and festivals. The main ingredient in a kheer is milk which can be dairy milk or milk obtained from vegetable sources like coconut. Similarly, Rawa/Sooji is also used along with dry fruits. Ingredients:

  • Green Gram 200 gm
  • Fennel seeds 1 tbsp
  • Cashewnuts 50 gm
  • Semolina 250 gm
  • Coconut 1 and 1/2 large grated
  • Cardamom 6-7
  • Black Cardamom 1
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Jaggery 300 gm
  • Ghee 2 tbsp

Method:

  • Firstly, In a mixer jar
  • Add grated coconut, both cardamom’s, fennel seeds with 1/4 cup water and grind to a thick paste
  • Secondly, Using a strainer and 500 ml water extract coconut milk from the grinded paste and keep it aside
  • In a Cooker
  • Add green gram and 1/2 of the coconut milk
  • Cook until 4 whistles to cook the green gram (Tip: green gram should not break and must be soft) and keep it aside
  • In a small vessel
  • Add 1 tbsp ghee and cashewnuts
  • Roast it further for 10-15 sec on full flame and keep it aside
  • Heat a vessel
  • Add remaining half of the coconut milk and another 300 ml water
  • Now add jaggery powder and cook until it boils on full flame (Most Importantly, Do not add regular jaggery while cooking, add it only at the end after the vessel is taken off stove and cooled)
  • When it starts boiling, add the cooked green gram and mix it well
  • Allow it to boil for a second time and while boiling add roasted Sooji/Rawa (Roast rawa before for 30 sec on medium flame)
  • Mix it thoroughly
  • Cook for 2 min on full flame while constantly stirring it
  • Further, add cashewnuts and 1tbsp ghee
  • Later on medium flame cook for further 2 min with lid closed.
  • Take it off stove
  • Tasty moong kheer is ready. Serve Hot.

Gajar Halwa Puri Recipe (Carrot Halwa Poori)

Breakfast is an important meal of the day. Therefore, there are lots of variations in breakfast based on the regions around the world. Likewise, Indian cuisine offers varied breakfast options and Poori or Puri is one such popular Breakfast/Nashta recipe. This Breakfast recipe is a combination of a Sweet which is Gajar Halwa (Carrot) and Puri. Poori’s are deep fried indian bread prepared using flour and either served with Bhaji (Vegetable Side Dish) or stuffed.

Today, I will show you a unique puri recipe made using Gajar Halwa. I have made a paste of the halwa mixture by grinding grated carrot along with dry fruits, jaggery and kneaded it with wheat flour to make dough for poori’s which is then deep fried in oil. Hence, this poori recipe is a Carrot halwa poori as the halwa mixture is added in the flour.

Ingredients:

  • Carrot 300 gm
  • Cashew 25 gm
  • Almond 25 gm
  • Ghee 1- 1 and 1/2 tbs
  • Malai/Milk Cream 1/2 cup
  • Jaggery 100 gm 3 tablespoon
  • Cardamom powder 10-15
  • Wheat flour 350 gm
  • Salt 1 spoon
  • Sesame Seeds to apply

Method:

  • Grate carrot
  • In a mixer Jar add grated carrot, dry fruits, cardamom powder, milk cream and grind it to a fine paste.
  • In addition, add clarified butter (Ghee) and Jaggery to grind it further.
  • Meanwhile, Transfer the grinded paste in a bowl and add wheat flour .
  • Mix both and knead it to make a dough.
  • Keep the dough aside for 10-15 minutes.
  • Apply a little oil on hands and make small round balls of the dough.
  • Apply sesame seeds to the flour balls and start rolling it flat into poori’s.
  • Firstly, Heat Oil in a Kadai/Pan.
  • Secondly, Add the poori’s in the oil and deep fry it.
  • Initially, after adding the puri’s, press from above and then turn it to cook on the other side. As a result, the poori’s will
  • Once Fried, Take it off Kadai.
  • Tasty Gajar Halwa Puri is Ready. Serve Hot.
